In January 2017, staff from AMLSI flew to Amman, Jordan and assisted the Jordanian FIU and law enforcement community by facilitating a workshop which was designed to discuss the issues, challenges and international experience on the topic of investigating terrorism financing offences. The workshop highlighted key points of FATF Recommendation 6 in relation to UNSCR Resolutions 1267 and 1373 and continued with discussion on how to list persons and entities on national and/or international designated lists along with various forensic accounting and investigation tools which can be used to identify evidence or intelligence of use.
22 participants from 11 different agencies contributed throughout the workshop which made the outcomes so much more successful.
We’d like to once again thank our great friends at the Global Centre on Cooperative Security for their outstanding work in preparing the workshop.
